BastianDürr is an analyst monitoring the impacts of geoeconomic and geopolitical disruptions on supply chains and capital markets. Prior to joining Sinolytics, Bastian has been working as a research associate at Trier University since 2020, where he is currently in the final stages of a PhD project on the EU’s strategic dependencies in critical raw materials.
During his time in Trier, he has worked on advisory projects for European policymakers and organizations on how to manage geopolitical disruptions of global markets. Together with Professor Sebastian Heilmann of Trier University, he is the author of Geoeconomics: How Geopolitical Rivalries Reshape Global Markets (2025).
Bastian holds an MA in International Economics and Public Policy from Trier University and a BA in International Relations from Rhine-Waal University.
